What are the Diamonds for on the side of a pool table?
Sights, or diamonds, are put on the rails to aid in the aiming of bank or kick shots. There are six along each long rail (with the side pocket interfering with where the seventh one would go) and three along each short rail. These divide the playing surface into equal squares.
What is the Bridge Stick used for?
The mechanical bridge, sometimes called a rake, bridge stick or simply bridge is used to extend a player's reach on a shot where the cue ball is too far away for normal hand bridging. It consists of a stick with a grooved metal or plastic head which the cue slides on.
